    Charles DeStefano meets Diego Gomez Pickering, Mexican Consul to United States

    Last night I had the pleasure of meeting the Mexican Consul to the United States, Diego Gomez Pickering.  Mr Pickering was invited to a special meeting of La Colmena, an organization that assists workers from Central America and Mexico. (I am on the Board of Directors of La Colmena).

    Mr Pickering was met by members of the community who are active in La Colmena, including those who work with safety training, banking assistance, legal issues, etc.

    He then provided the community with information that can help them with issues involving the embassy, including how to contact family members, legal assistance, health care matters, notarizing documents, etc.

    It was a most welcoming meeting and certainly helped members of the Mexican community with life issues as they live here in the United States.
